Eli Alroy was one of the first professionals in the real estate business in Poland.

With Eli at the helm, GTC has positioned itself as market leader, combining innovative trends with modern architectural concepts and project execution of the highest quality and standards. His foresight and pioneering concepts, in conjunction with prudent and experienced management gave GTC boost it needed to become an authentic trendsetter on the real estate market.

During 1991-1994 Eli served as General Manager of A.M.T. Development and Kardan Real Estate. In 1994 he was appointed to pioneer Kardan's penetration into the CEE market and to implement its investment strategy. Recognizing the potential of Poland, Kardan founded Globe Trade Centre S.A (GTC) and established its headquarters in Warsaw.

GTC's first project, under Eli's direction, was the Mokotów Business Park in Warsaw (1996). Revitalizing this dilapidated post industrial area into the capital's first modern office park required not only entrepreneurship but also a great deal of foresight and courage. At the time of its sale in December 2006 ($ 287m), Mokotów Business Park was the largest office park in Central and Eastern Europe comprising of nine buildings with the total rental area of 107,000 sqm.

In 2004, the company made its debut on the main market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange and it shares have been continuously listed in the prestigious WIG20 index. GTC is also a member of international MSCI indexes and the GPR 250 index, which includes the shares of the 250 largest and most liquid companies in the real estate sector worldwide. GTC’s shareholders list includes the largest international and Polish institutional investors.

Eli has played the leading role in the process of transforming GTC from a Polish orientated company into an international corporation and one of the leading developers in the CEE region. In the late nineties GTC started its expansion in Hungary and Romania followed by the Czech Republic, Serbia, Croatia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Russia and Ukraine.

Office facilities developed by GTC have become the genuine pride of the company. Following the Mokotow Business Park, GTC continued to produced landmark projects in Poland and other countries of the CEE region, including the Platinium Business Park, Topaz, Nefryt (all of them in Warsaw), and the GTC office center in Cracow, Avenue Center in Zagreb, Spiral project in Budapest, GTC House in Belgrade, and the City Gate project in Bucharest.

GTC’s success in developing modern retail and entertainment centers have also contributed to its ever growing reputation as a versatile and diversified developer. Galeria Mokotów in Warsaw with a surface of 62,500 sq m was the first venue of its kind in Poland (opened in 2000) followed by Galeria Kazimierz in Cracow opened in spring 2005 and Galeria Jurajska in Częstochowa (opened October 2009). The company's portfolio also includes completed shopping and entertainment centers in other Central-Eastern and South-Eastern Europe including Avenue Mall in Zagreb (2007) and three centers of the Galleria chain opened in mid-size cities in Romania.

<>pDuring his career Eli has received several awards for his leadership, professional commitment, knowledge and vision. In 2007, he was elected the CEEQA Real Estate Industry Professional of the Year.

 

Since 1994, GTC has developed about 700 000 sq m of net space and currently is the owner of completed commercial property with a combined net area of about 412 000 sq m. GTC also holds an impressive portfolio of investment at various stages of development which will facilitate the construction of 1.9 million sq m of commercial and residential areas.

Eli Alroy earned a Bachelor of Science degree (cum laude) from the Technion Institute of Technology - the most prestigious technical university in Israel and a Master of Science degree from Stanford University, California.

CEEQA 2012 GALA DINNER & PARTY in pictures. Nearly 600 guests were present at the sector's flagship annual event in Warsaw to celebrate the outstanding business achievements & achievers in emerging Europe real estate in 2011 and were treated to four course dinner and dazzling array of production and entertainment.

CEEQA 2012 AWARD WINNERS in pictures. A total of 23 awards were judged by 30 jury members for the ninth edition of the CEEQA Gala & Industry Awards.

CEEQA 2012 LIFETIME ACHEIVEMENT AWARD in pictures. This year's award for Lifetime Achievement in Real Estate was presented to Richard Clare, Group Chairman of EC Harris for 15 years. On hand to assist with the presentation was last year's recipient of the award, Carol Panattoni.

REALGREEN 2012 in pictures. The CEEQA Gala was preceded by a full day symposium and fair focusing on the business case for green building in the region, four new CEEQA RealGreen awards were presented for achievement in development, investment, green building services and the green building of the year.

CEEQA GALA RAISES MORE THAN €10,000 FOR CHARITY: Guests at the CEEQA Gala helped raise a totla of €10,300 on behalf of Budapest based charity Bator Tabor Foundation, which organises therapeutic holiday camps for seriously sick children across Central Europe. The money raised at CEEQA2012 will be spent on the maintenance and the development of the charity's high-ropes course program, the only wheel-chair accessible high ropes course in the region.

CEEQA@MIPIM 2012 PHOTOS: More than 200 guests attended the awards short list announcement cocktail in Cannes on the opening night of MIPIM and were treated to an electric live show by soul disco legend Gloria Gaynor.

8TH ANNUAL CEEQA GALA: A packed house of 530 business leaders from more than 40 countries gathered at the Warsaw Marriott Hotel on 1-March 2011 to celebrate the sector's achievements in 2010. The crowd paid tribute to a fallen soldier, Marcin Kania, with a minute of applause.

THE GREEN DEBATE 2: The second Green Debate insight forum in the morning preceding the CEEQA Gala focused on the business case for green building on emerging Europe real estate - Demand for green buildings is on the rise, but what are the funds thinking?

8TH CEEQA JURY DINNER: The jury for the eighth annual CEEQA Awards welcomed participants active in the Southeast Europe as well as CEE markets, judging real estate projects and business achievements across eighteen countries.

The 7th CEEQA programme commenced with a CEE Insight Forum event on 21st October ‘Through the Looking Glass’ discussing the new shapes and patterns in the post-crisis CEE market place and launch of the 2009 awards, presented by Polish TV presenter Monika Richardson and CEE Insight Forum director Richard Hallward.

The 6th annual CEE Quality Awards Gala in February 2009, presenting awards for performance and achievement in in Central & Eastern European real estate in 2008, provided some benchmark victories and a few surprises in the award categories. Television presenter Monika Richardson hosted the awards ceremony among a stellar line up of entertainment through the evening including exceptional performances by 80s legends Bananarama, young Polish stars Aufiofeels and contact juggler Kamil Dzilinski "Dzielny"

The CEE Insight Forum event preceding the awards gala (TROPICAL STORM2: Global economic crisis and the CEE property markets) attracted more than 150 guests, regional investors, developers, financiers and consultants were joined by Anatoli Annenkov (EBRD) and Jan Cienski (Financial Times) in a powerful debate on challenges and opportunities for the market chaired by George Leslie (KPMG).
